Hi all
Not sure if I'm doing something fundamentally stupid here, but know doubt someone will advise..Please:)
Took the Yugo M57 to the range today and basically the hammer won't #### after each round. Its ejects and chamber's rounds but won't #### the hammer..I can easily pull the slide back and #### the hammer...Any ideas..?
Using Sellier & Bellot 7.62 x 25...
Thanks.....

Maybe the S&B is underpowered?

Have you tried the pistol with any surplus 7.62 x 25mm?

Does it work fine with surplus ammunition?

I have never had an issue with this gun other than a casing stuck in the chamber as the exctractor literally tore a strip out of the case rim lol.

A little oil on the casing and punching the cleaning rod through the muzzle to knock her out and good to go again :D

Hi.....Thanks for the reply and suggestion. No, I've not tried surplus although it worked fine with the last two boxes of S&B, but I'll certainly give it a try though...As you say it may well be underpowered...I'll know what to do if I ever get a casing stuck as well:)...Cheers...

Make sure gun is unloaded.
#### the hammer and dry fire it, but keep the trigger depressed...don't let it out at all. Rack the slide while still keeping the trigger pulled and see if the hammer stays cocked or follows the slide home.

Hi....Okay, tried that, exactly how you describe. Cocked the hammer, dry fired. Kept trigger depressed and racked the slide...Slide stays back until slide release catch is depressed, slide comes forward with hammer...

OK, that sounds like the disconnect is fubar (should have told you to take the mag out for this, save you pressing the slide release).
It may be broken, or just worn out. The hammer should stay cocked when you do this and not follow the slide home. Don't shoot it until you get it repaired....

This be the correct exploded view....not the Airsoft version....christ lol

Okay, I'll get it checked out properly before I do anything else with it...I know its only a relatively cheap pistol, but I like it...Appreciate the advice..thanks..

Your parts diagram looks to be for an airsoft gun.

EDIT: All Better now

:)

Hopefully that's all it is. If Russian parts fit, it's an $8 fix from tradex. Part 24 in the exploded view I posted above.

Looks like I need to order (if possible) the disconnect for an M88..Looks exactly the same. The Russian Tokarev part looks totally different..The disconnect definately looks worn (or even a small part has sheared off) at the bottom...Good call, thanks again.

That looks better:)) Yep, its the same...Thanks guys..I'll order it with Tradex...

Thats what sucks about doing :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: with my phone...can hardly see what I'm doing! Airsoft parts....jesus :)
When you get the part replaced, do the same function test and make sure it works properly.

Hey, its appreciated by me...Gimme an old Enfield and I'll fix it blindfolded, but not good with semi-auto pistols.
Item ordered from Tradex this afternoon and I'll do the test again when it arrives..:)

Hi all
Thanks to the advice above I've got the M57 working again:) Tradex didn't have the part (albeit they showed in stock) so ended up south of the border to a gun show yesterday and found the usual 'old fella' surrounded with piles of various containers full of spares.. (you name it, he's got it)....Cheers all..
