I just picked up a remington model 597 (22 long) with the heavy barrel at my local sports store for a deal of $200 bucks, but it came with a catch,.. apparantly it will only feed on type of remington ammunition with out stress, brought it home and tried a few different types of ammunition through it, and I seemed to experiance less malfunction if there was less than 5 in the clip. had at least one malfuntion per clip. it also seems that the shells in the clip are at way to steep of an angle ( points over the breech hole ) to load properly. this gun has been sent back to remington a few times, they said there was nothing wrong, any one have one of these rifles, experiancing the same issues? I belive its the clip itself, I have shaved the plastic insert in the clip to see if it makes any difference, or at least lowers the bullet a bit more, and i will be borrowing a few new unshot clips to test also. but I havent had the time yet. any help either for the problem or maybe an aftermarket clip would be most apreciated.
