So, I got an EOTech today and noticed something strange.
First off, I wear glasses all the time, for everything I do. I shoot iron sights and scopes both fine.
However, my EOTech is blurry as all heck when I look through it. (center dot blurs to about 5 times it's size and almost touches the outer ring).
Only happens with my glasses though, If I look over the top of my glasses with it, it looks nice and crisp- I can even make out the pixels.

It's not a massive problem, I plan on shooting by looking over my glasses. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this or if anyone knew why.

-It's not the sight either, I've looked at new ones in stores and the same thing happened.

Sounds like astigmatism - I have it and the same thing happens with my aimpoint. I have to turn the brightness down to a setting that's manageable if not the dot becomes a huge unfocused star. Eotech's are out of the question for me.

One of the reasons why i'm looking to add a 1-4x illuminated optic to the collection.

I too have astigmatism and for whatever reason my EXPS-3 works great (always wear my contact lenses and not regular glasses while at the range - eventhough my regular glasses are ok w/ the Eotech); haven't had any long time use behind an Aimpoint to comment however.

When I first got my first Tavor, it came with the Mepro21 & I noticed that the upper left hatch & lower right hatch marks for the reticle, were blurry... I was sure something was wrong with the scope... Called Chris at CanAm where I bought it & the FIRST question he asked was, do you wear glasses? YES, but only for reading... Chris said, "Put 'em on..." I did & the reticle was clear!

Frack!!! My very minor astigmatism of -.25 in both eyes, is the reason!

Cheers
Jay
