Problems with my new NEA 15

I have the same issue with my gas key, it basically fell apart because the two screws were not stamped on properly. I sent NEA an email and got a response in 20 minutes, they are sending me a new Bolt Carrier Group, with a shipping label to return the old one. Good stuff. Serial 3XX so I think it is relative to the recent batch of BCG that came in, which is not an NEA machined part. So far no other issues, my trigger is also very heavy and gritty but I am going to put some more rounds down range once I fix the bolt before I look to modify/replace it

The triggers should break in at 9-12lbs as per spec.

Isn't that out of the USGI spec? I thought triggers had to be between 5.5-9.5lbs to meet USGI requirements.

ETA: Found this, from MIL-C-71186:

"3.4.3 Triqqer Pull. The trigger pull shall be free of creep
and shall be within the range of 5.5 to 8.5 pounds. Creep shall
be interpreted to mean any perceptible rough movement between the
time the trigger slack is taken up and the hammer is released.
After partial or complete trigger pull, the trigger shall return
to its normal forward position (cocked and uncocked) under spring
action."

The above is for the M4A1 which uses a full auto trigger mech.

ARMY TM 9-1005-319-23 has the trigger pull for the M16A2 and M4 as between 5.5 and 9.5lbs. Those rifles have the three round burst feature which probably contributes to the higher limit.

Not sure where to post this, and recognize it's not directly relevant to the post.

I'm catching back up after being out of touch with the community for a while, so doing lots of reading.

What I'm missing so far is, who out west (or even generally, besides SFRC) is carrying NEA's stock? I clicked the 'dealer' links on NEA site but didn't come up with a list....

Huh?

While it's unsettling to hear of more NEA issues, it's reassuring to see that they take care of their customers very well. Sure, stringent QC costs money but repeated warranty claims cost much more. Hell, the shipping alone is exorbitant.

It's retarded... Not something we strive for. It is WAY cheaper for us to listen to our customers and make drastic alterations than to have a QC issue. That's why we act immediately; even if it costs us money. We cant to get past the issue, fix it and not repeat it.

We also have a strict Elf-whipping program in place now.
