Hello everyone,

I got this German Ortigies pistol a little while ago. When I first got it I took it down I noticed there was no striker-spring guide  someone had placed a spring inside another spring. Anyways it was a bit bent up, so I held off shooting it until I finally found the correct part. So I ordered one in & put everything together, and the slide doesn't go all the way back... not far enough to load a round from the mag.

Is this because the spring is damaged? it didn't seem too bad.

If anyone here is familiar with the Ortigies pistol I would appreciate any help. I'm not sure what to try next, I should have just ordered a new spring while I was at it.

Could it be caused by improperly assembling the spring and guide parts (middle of your photo)? I have a hell of a time getting my 7.65 Ortgies back together with the back of the guide on the little hook part it sits on. I use a narrow punch to push it in place before lowering the slide onto the frame.

Thanks for the responces, I might try and snip the spring down a little....

All I know is this is gun is becoming a real pain in the ass. I wonder if the spring isn't original to the gun and is actually a but too big. We will see what happens :D
