ive got a problem vz58...

it likes to remove the rim off the case instead of extracting the empty case.
i then need to use a metal rod to hammer the stuck case out.

its been into Italian sporting goods in vancouver for a chamber polish, that didnt help, sent back to marstar, 5 months later it came back "fixed" with a polished chamber.
when it still had issues with stuck cases, i was told that the chamber had some pitting in it, but they didnt have a replacement barrel. I was told they would contact me later. that was nearly 6 months ago.....

what can i do with this POS? is a replacement barrel available anywhere?

anyone want to buy it?

Hmm, i have had this happen a couple of times on my cz. i find if you clean the chamber and lube it up good the cases wouldnt stick anymore. that s what fixed it for me

Yeah maybe put a little bit of oil in the chamber area.

I had 1 grain of sand once stuck in between the chamber wall and cartridge and had a hell of a time getting it out after.

use the chamber brush in the cleaning kit to scrub the chamber really well. Laqcuer thinner will help get it really clean as the cases are lacquered. The hotter the chamber gets, the more lacquer gets deposited inside as a very sticky residue. A good cleaning after each shooting session will keep this from happening ever again

Had this happen a couple of times. It was my rifles way of telling me to clean the varnish out of the chamber and add a bit of oil. Usually needs to be done every few hundred rounds.

its not a laquer issue, its been through 2 smiths, both polished the chamber.

i know how to clean the laquer build up.

my sks shoots the same ammo and gets less care, cleaning and maintanance and doesnt have this issue.

anyone changed a barrel on one of these?

i asked about headspace at italian S G, and got a non answer back... they said i needed to have chamber polished.

so no i dont think its been checked

What make is your VZ ? CZ858 , CSA , FSN , CZ2003 ? what ammo are you using? I think Dlask can do a replacement barrel on a VZ.

the only time I've heard of this problem happening is when the chamber gets fouled with lacquer or rust ? i guess pitting could do it too if the case expands into the pits under pressure? When you get out the cases with your steel rod how tight are they in there ? does it take a tap or a solid whack ? I wonder if you tried a new bolt in your rifle if this would fix the problem? Im in Squamish if you want to try a bolt from one of my rifles we can meet up at the shooting range ..

it takes a very moderately hard hit with a 24oz hammer... hard enough that it bent the end of the steel cleaning rod my m14 came with

bcviking, id be down for a shoot n swapping of parts afternoon.... sometime after dec 10th/ hunting season?

anyone have a headspace gauge(s) they would lend me?
