Hi gang,
I was just wondering if you guys are starting to have problems with shipping. That is two places I have bought smokeless powder from and both times shipping is 350$:dancingbanana:. The two stores are cabelas and westside stores.
Is it just me or does someone know why it has changed?

Thanks,

My about only experiences at buying smokeless powder through Cabelas.ca, was to have it delivered to nearest of their stores. I nominated our son as person to pick it up - which apparently went fine - he lives in that city. Our son is 4 1/2 hours drive from me, so was some more commotion to finally get the powder in my hands - but, so far as I have seen, is no couriers of any colour that come out to here in the boonies. I do not believe that I paid any "shipping charge" to Cabela's. I presume the $350 shipping cost was to have the powder delivered to your home?? I had also done same thing through Cabela's.ca about a year ago to get 2,000 Large Rifle primers - took some time before they got here in my shop, but eventually made it.

FYI - on CGN last month I bought 4 pounds of Big Game powder - the seller was near Prince George, B.C. - the powder was couriered to my daughter's place of business (she is an owner, there) in a Saskatchewan town, about an hour's drive from where I live - I think total price - powder plus courier - was less than $400.

They are all wanting to charge a dangerous goods delivery, and not many drivers are actually qualified for the delivery of dangerous goods on the receiving end. So they look up your postal code, and then deny shipment area, and then deny sale of goods.

I have found that if you can get it delivered to an outlet in your area and pick it up there, they will delivery it to the outlet. Did this with UPS last week on primers. Was no problem to ship to local pickup area.

Had an interesting UPS experience today. Apparently if it is ammo and marked 19+ like some vendors do. It has to be delivered and they will not drop it off at a pick up location or accept a note. 3 tries and it goes back. Managed to chase down the truck tonight at the gas station.

Ya that's what the person told me on the phone when I called. But I'm happy now at least they tell you when you look at the gun powder on there website. But like i said before it was only really cabelas that has done this to me so far.

Few years ago I got two 8 lb kegs from Cabelas. Free shipping and it came to my PO Box.
I think they messed up. But I just went with it. Hahaha.
