I've looked in the IPSC rule book, but of course it doesn't tell me what are "factory offered accessories" and what aren't.
Would an extended mag release and a D mainspring be legal for Production if I installed them on a Beretta Vertec?

Factory offered accessories means that there are models of that firearm that are available from the factory with the parts pre-installed. It is simply not enough for them to have a part that is labeled as "for the Vertec".

You would have to contact Beretta and find out if they offer a model that has the parts in question pre-installed.

Beretta USA does provide a "special order" service for their guns through an authorized dealer where one can order a factory customized gun.
What sort of "proof" would I need to produce at a match that a new Vertec can be ordered with a Beretta factory extended mag release installed?
(An old injury makes it very difficult for me to operate most 'standard' mag release buttons that set in a hollow, but are flush with the grips).

the Vertec is considered a 92 series firearm, any parts for any 92 is legal in/on the Vertec. So yes the D spring is legal as is the extended mag release. Also the parts are listed for the Vertec that way as well.

Hmmm....Beretta USA does offer some accessories for sale, but they will only ship via UPS.
Is there another source of genuine Beretta parts & accessories?

I believe you can get the 92 from the factory with Laser Grips installed now. That should open a can of worms.

Not at all. That would fall under "optical/electronic sights" (aiming devices which use electronic circuitry - 5.1.3.2) which are not allowed in Production.

The rules aren't all that difficult - people just make them that way.
