Just curious, how many people are thinking of switching production guns to one of the new guns available this year such as the SP-01, Tanfoglio, or Smith and Wesson M&P ? I am shooting a G22 right now and if I don't switch to an STI/Standard, I might give one (or all) of the above a go (lots of good things heard about the first two and the Tanfoglios I fondled in Europe were AWESOME).

a bad thing abt. production is getting a gun that fits you....this process is timely and costly!! But it gives you more excuses to buy toys!

In standard you cna buy your basic double stack and then modify each part to fit your grip and sights.

Production gun change

I switched but am not sure yet which I will use.....testing still underway......sold my Baby Eagle (just after the trigger had nicely broken in), bought 2 SP01's over the winter thinking they would be my "ultimate" as I really do like CZ and CZ clones, then along came Tanfoglio to Canada and I bought the Stock (in 40) to try a downloaded 40 as it had the same factory options and a few more than the SP01 (also have a Glock 22 to compare the downloaded 40 against)............at first glance the Tanfoglio Stock appears to have everything I've been looking for in a Production gun

I'm getting a K100, but it's been 5 months since the order, so if it doesn't come soon, I"ll probably give the SP01 a try (used CZs before).

how come Rugers are never in the choice list  I don't see why ppl don't use them. I just love my P944. still working on my load mind you but the little thing is built ase tough as they come and shoots more than decently enough. I feel like the ugly duckling right now:( But seriously speeking, i would'nt change my ruger for any in the list.

As a newbie in all of this IPSC PRoduction how does a SIG 226 rate for a production gun?

Have a CZ 85 that needs some work on it's extractor so I am looking for a change.

Take Care

I shot a Sig VERY briefly and my only beef with it was the longer reset relative to a Glock. The factory sights were pretty good and the grip fit me well. I am still thinking of trying out a DAK but I am not sure if the reset is any shorter on that gun (?).

PS - if I buy a DAK, I'm blaming YOU :D ;)

Might be our wives have two guys to blame. I doubt my abilities would notice much a difference between a Glock and a SIG. I know Glocks are or can be bullet proof. Just can't get my mind around buying one and I do like the SIG. In a perfect world I would get the 226 Navy and the 220 - love the .45acp and I could use it for IDPA and personal carry when we get that OK'd - I'm a dreamer.:D

Take Care.

switching guns won't switch you into a higher class. You can't buy performance. The two most important factors are reliability and personal fit. You have to like the gun, and it has to work for you. If you're going to switch for one of those two reasons, go for it! If you're thinking about upgrading your gun because you think that will, by itself, make you a better shooter... you're likely to be disappointed...

Including double the asking price of most...

... Is the Stock heavier than the SP01 by having a 5" barrel? Hows the double action trigger pull? My SP01 has loosened up a bit but am looking at either racing it out or buying Tangfolio. Just curious.

Thanks
