Noticing, ( duh...) there seems to be very few shooters in Standard Division, relative to Production...and wondering if it might be fun to shoot something different. I know there is always Classic but just curious why so many shooters left Standard for Production?

What is the hot setup in Standard these days?

Oh, and while on the subject, anyone shooting Major in Production using .45? If so what gun. I load .45 for fun club level action shooting using a Springfield Trophy Match but it doesn't fit my hand well enough to use it in a match...

Jim

There is no major scoring in production, there have been some shoot .45 but you get score minor no matter what.
STI Edge is pretty much the go to Standard gun in .40

I bought a used glock to use for ipsc. The slide was hydrodipped a carbon fibre style. After reading the rules, I think this might make the pistol not valid for production. Is that true?

Yes, you can't use your modified Glock in production, even if it's cosmetic.

Nope - No one shoots Major in Production. Since they only score minor, there's no point.

You know that the Springfield Trophy Match is not legal for Production, right?

Yes, that is why I have the Tanfoglio 9mm...for Production. Excellent gun, but I'm hoping I can use the SA Trophy in Standard or Classic. It fits the box, tight...but fits. I enjoy shooting .45 now and then and would like to compete with it at some point. Just for the fun...

And while on the subject of Production equipment...sort of...I bought some Hennings base pads for my Tan mags to replace the annoying Eric G. pads that came with the gun, but there are no 'spring bases' under the EC pads so I can't use the Hennings pads.

Anyone know where I might find 4 of those tinny little metal bits?
