Prohib short barrels???? wtf?

I just spoke to Dlask about having my CZ858 restricted model shortened (ive run into several people who had short models like the defender over the yrs)
And they told me chopping the barrel on a firearm lower than 18.5 is prohibited??? I was very clear about it being a restricted model.

miscomunication or are we not aloud to cut barrels lower than factory length?

True.... Must start out with a fresh barrel blank. May not use existing barrel below 18.5"

You cannot cut a barrel shorter than the lower limit. Even if restricted. You cannot cut a 16" barrel to 14.5", or a 14.5" to 10.5".

the shortie projects under 18.5" all use a new barrel. Its a pointless law, although beneficial to those who can do the work.

You will have to buy a brand new barrel.

Yep you have to buy a new barrel....here's a DLASK conversion. Barrel is a Lothar Walther.

or sell what you have and buy a carbine or a compact CSA VZ58.

ya was looking at the CSA shorty but thought that might have been a short cut as im short on money after buying a car.
