Did the same thing with a Luger, maybe 12 or so years ago. Had a friend who is allowed prohibs, buy it - had a gunsmith put a 6" barrel on it - my friend, who fortuitously also happened to be a verifier, verified that it was now a restricted HG - called it in and we did the transfer to my name. The reg. slip came in the usual time - 2 to 4 weeks, something like that. Did the same thing again, half a dozen years ago - same amount of time, more or less. I suspect that someone on the other end is having, or had some issue with your Luger and your paperwork is sitting in a file somewhere, waiting for another someone to figure it out and do a follow up. I had that happen to me a few years ago, when these people had some misunderstanding about what calibre they were convinced, one of my purchases should have been. It was a .40 S&W - they were told that initially. For some unexplained reason, the person couldn't reconcile that this particular gun (Baby Eagle) wasn't a .44 Mag. Instead of calling me up to get clarification, the paperwork disappeared into the "someone else can do this" file and I never heard from them for almost a year, when someone called me up and told me that, if I wanted to go through with the transfer they would need a verifier to confirm that this piece was really a .40 S&W. Something of a head scratcher - no idea what got stirred into the oatmeal, to cause this screw up - they are usually sharper than that (in my experience). In any case, something similar may have happened to your transfer. All you can do is call them up and ask if they're having some issue with the transfer, that you can help them with. - - - Good luck.
