They look brand new. Can they be fired anywhere legally ? or do they remain wall hangers ?

They may look brand new, but all of them have been extensively fired. I take care of my stuff and only buy pristine examples.

Prohib CA and semi-automatic long-guns can be legally discharged on any certified range. The trick is to get them there, as the CFOs will no longer issue the Special Authority to Possess (SAP) Permits required for transport of prohib long-guns. Catch 22! As a result, most have been "Safe Queens" since 2005. More's the Pity.....

Absolutely sickening! They will not issue the transport permits......whe the Fvck will this $hit change......I personally feel like selling all my restricteds just cause of the hassle....I couldn't imagine how u feel about your situation.....those are beauty man

Nice rifles!
The "TRW M14" doesn't look right though. Is that a semi-auto receiver of some type? There is no stub where the selector should be and no connector link for the fun switch either. Also, the op-rod is not USGI.
Not that any of that matters, just an observation...still a nice rifle.

The parts are mostly TRW on an M305 Receiver. The stripped TRW USGI Receiver sits in my safe, a prisoner of the CFO refusal to issue SAPs. This way I at least get to fire "most" of my USGI M14.....

As a point of future reference, you will find that all Converted-Automatic USGI M14 Receivers in Canada had the Selector Lug ground off as part of the "conversion" process. As a result, all have the "hole" in the USGI Stock unless someone has gone to the trouble of fitting one of the dummy Selector kits for appearance sake.

Umm...not so. Both my 12(3) M14s still have the selector lug attached. The front part of the switch that turned is ground off and the back side of the switch is welded over so it also can't turn. A few smaller pieces are also trimmed off or shortened. The "hole" in the stock is still filled.

question: is there a way to change the M14 into a NR semi only rifle? I am not an expert but it is injustice guns like this cannot have the time they deserve.

Yes, you do what I did and transfer your stripped USGI "parts kit" onto a semi-only NR Receiver. Then you can use most of your rifle.....

When first imported, original USGI M14 rifles were just that...non restricted. The selector switch was rendered inoperable making the rifle only capable of semi auto fire. Then, in the interest of "public safety", some moron decided sometime around 1998 that all such rifles would be re-classified as 12(3) "converted automatic" and would now be considered "prohibited", even though the Springfield M1A, Poly Tech M14s, Norinco M305, etc., etc., remained NR due to their "semi auto only" receivers.
Does that make sense? NO! Crazy but true. Such are our Canadian gun laws...
If you have a USGI M14 you can install all your parts on to a semi auto receiver and you basically have a NR M14.

So if you had a certified range in your back yard you could use them?

Bartok,,, I am coming to Edmonton early march,, I would truly love the chance to come and see these first hand. Yes I do have a Rpal etc and own several rifles/pistols. but to actually handle some of these would make my year! being a younger guy and never having the chance to actually own or even hold one of these you would be a miracle maker lol

Call me when you get into town and let's see if our schedules permit a visit. Just send me a PM when you get closer to the date and I will give you my phone number to call. I am medically retired, so can probably work around your schedule. You will want to book at least an hour, as I also collect Militaria, 1/32 scale model soldiers and vehicles, combat/fighting knives, international camouflage uniforms and other odds and ends. You will be welcome to handle the firearms to your heart's content....
