Just received the new Promag Archangel 10/22 Target stock and must say I am very impressed. It is an all 'plastic' stock but the quality of the finish AND stiffness is top notch. Feels like a big dollar composite stock.

The target audience are 10/22 shooters who are looking for a proper shape to shoot off bags. Or for the rimfire tactical or varmint shooter looking for a stock with a butthook to aid in bipod use. Kind of a goofy place to put the rear swivel stud but easily removable.

The layout is very nice and handles superbly. Quite light too.

This is the stiffest composite stock I have seen next to a Laminated stock.

It is also very comfy to hold and the comb is a great height for scope use. Hollow molded which saves weight. Interesting engineering.

Like all injection molded stocks, this one will likely benefit from proper bedding too. Nice wide barrel channel to free float those HB's. As this stock was sold, I didn't want to put my action into the stock but don't expect any surprises for fit.

Length of pull is adjustable with a very nice dial that lies flush but easy to operate. You have 'clicks' as you move the dial and each setting is very solid with little to no play. Min pull is approx 12". max is 13.5" so will fit a wide range of builds.

There is a nice compartment in the grip with a solid locking latch. For a limited time, they are throwing in a synthetic buffer tube and an extended mag release (alloy) which is a very nice touch.

I have had a chance to look at many 10/22 stocks and I must rate this one as my new favorite for a target stock. Well priced, well built - I am very impressed.

I purchased one at a gunshow a few weeks back and installed my "project" 10/22 action, and carbon fiber barrel. It did require a bit of patient fitting work in order to make it frustration free when removing and replacing the action for cleaning. It was well worth the extra effort as my first impression firing with this stock combination was quite positive. The pistol grip is ambidextrous which is a benefit to those southpaw shooters that seem to be in greater numbers at the gunrange than anywhere else. My rig with a weaver rimfire scope, empty ruger factory mag, and Magnum research carbon fiber barrel comes in at about 5lbs 12 oz. Definitely not the lightest 10/22 out there but still quite comfortable to carry. When I get a chance I will bed the action and see if it performs as well as I expect it to. Overall I think it is a good upgrade and cheaper than a target stock from some of the other companies.
