Just got this stock and am absolutely floored by how good it is.

The quality of surface finish is excellent with only light flashing and a few casting marks. It feels like it was made from a large hunk of billet alum.

The forend is straight and rigid. There is no twist or flex in this stock.

It is wonderfully balanced right on the grip so it should work out well with an action in it. The grip, shape and size is a perfect fit for my hands. I would really like this set up in a bolt rifle stock.

Rigid and solid, promag has moved injection molding to a whole new level.

The adjustable comb is rock solid. The clicks are really nice and it just oozes with quality. The adj length of pull is also really well put together and will suit a wide range of shooters.

The forend has a molded in pic rail that is solid enough you could put a scope on it. comes with a cover so that is comfy to grip. If you were adding a bipod, you could shorten the cover to fit. Or if you were going with a vertical grip, just take it off.

The grip has a really nice storage compartment with a proper latch and a solid hinge

I do not have an action to fit so we will wait for the happy members who will have theirs by next week.

Enjoy the pics. I am really hoping that Promag will make these stocks for bolt guns

There is a pretty long pre order list now but if I get all the stocks I have ordered, this should get filled on the next shipment.

Send me a PM or email to get on this list.

I have not seen a JAE but have seen alot of high end stocks. This Promag will go head to head with any of them regardless of price.

If they get into making this style of stock for bolt rifles, many big name brands are going to have to rethink their pricing and timing for product.

You'll understand when you get to handle one.

I was really hoping this was gonna suck and totally not worth buying... Now I want one... Which also means I need another m14. So much for paying down my student loans

Any idea why they originally called them back? I'm wondering if there is any difference from earlier ones...

Not trying to crap on your parade, but not likely.
Maybe buy a JAE before you make a determination? Just a thought.

If they get into making this style of stock for bolt rifles, many big name brands are going to have to rethink their pricing and timing for product.

It's not even a threat to them. They offer high end products and there will be always be plenty of people that will pay for the R&D and quality.
These stocks will simply sell to the customers that could not afford a JAE. Which will be a large market by itself btw.
JAE and other makers of high end products will not have to rethink their prices at all.
My 2 cents.
How do you think Porsche makes money?

You also might want to install it and make sure it fits. From what I've heard you will have to break out the dremmel.

TACTICAL111, When using someones quote in your post, it is a good idea to not edit their words to create a new "quote". Creative paraphrasing is not always best.

"I have not seen a JAE but have seen alot of high end stocks. This Promag will go head to head with any of them regardless of price.

If they get into making this style of stock for bolt rifles, many big name brands are going to have to rethink their pricing and timing for product.

You'll understand when you get to handle one." Is the actual quote. Never compared it to the JAE as I said clearly, I have never seen one, BUT I have seen alot of high end stocks and this promag compares favorably.

Considering you have likely not seen or handled this stock, isn't it presumptive to assume the quality of this stock?

As for needing a dremel, it would not surprise me in the least. Given the variance in action dimensions, having tight fit here and there is to be expected AND desired. Way too many stock have enormous inletting tolerances creating just as many problems as they are trying to resolve.

The solution is proper bedding AND fitting.

So I see no problem in the need to fit or bed an action into this stock.

As to exotic cars, there is a market for them no doubt and some offer performance and technology not available in other brands. How they survive is charging a massive premium for that tech.

An reduction of 1 sec in 0-60 may cost you tens of thousands. With the cost of cars, that may be inline for some consumers.

But given the rocky history of most exotic car makers, not enough consumers see the value.

I am sure market forces will figure things out.
