Does anyone else have these?

I have a pair and they are POS jam-o-matics. Absolute junk. Jams every few rounds.
I tried trimming the extra plastic flashing here and there, sprayed some lubricant into the mag, and even tried sanding down any rough edges. No luck.

Anyone have any ideas on how to make these Promag magazines more reliable?

I've got no problems with the factory 10 round mags. Just both of these promags.

I've tried sanding and trimming. No luck, even with a variety of ammo. Maybe I'll try buying another couple of mags and see if they work better

The Promag and Remington extended mags both suck. I've heard that some people have successfully used them by not fully loading the mag, and there's a rumour going around about a metal extended mag available by mail order from the US but customs won't let them across the border. I generally just stick to the 10 round "C" type mags (I have 8 of them), it's less hassle and changing a mag is quick and easy on a 597.

UPDATE: so I tossed the two Promag magazines I had that were jam-o-matics in the garbage.

I've read that these Promags can be hit or miss, and so on a whim I picked up another two from SFRC not expecting much.
To my surprise, the new mags work without any issues (albeit in the freezing cold on Dec 23rd).

I'm probably gonna get flamed, but I have tried Pro-Mags for rifles and pistols over the years...and they are VERY hit and miss. Mostly miss. One of the reasons for even purchasing them, was they were the only available mags at the time. They are fine for range use, and malfunction clearing drills, but I personally wouldn't use them in the field. As far as the 597, the best mags are the steel ten round ones Remington makes. I have, and use a few of their 25 round ones, but don't leave them loaded for prolong periods as I have found the back of the mag will sometime split along the seam. (older generation mags ) Newer ones seem to be a different style of plastic , or better bounding of the seam. Great little great little guns.

Been running promag 22rd mag in my HB 597 for awhile and it has not had any failures yet. They also list a drum mag for the 597 on their website.
