Promag Mount - Who stocks it and who's got the best deal?

Hey Guys,

So my M-14S arrived from SFRC, the gun is beautiful (the plastic stock is nasty) and the sights are atrocious. The elevation knob is not cut square, so when it is tightened down in one setting, and then elevation is changed, it may become too tight, or too loose... :puke:

So... despite the fact I really can't afford it... I think I am gonna try and get some sorta optic setup on it... thinking a Promag mount with a Vortex red dot (sparc ideally...) (unless anyone has got any cheaper options... I suppose replacing the knobs would be cheaper... but...)

SO, who's got the best price on the Promag mount... I know mystic carries them, but I don't see them listed on his website... anyone else in canada? or anyone that ships to canada?

Thanks all,

Matt

Yeah...good question on that Promag M14 scope mount...anyone got them? From reading on other forums it seems to be pretty much a copy of the ARMS 18 but a lot more economical...the guys seem to have good results with it. Anyone?

I got mine on the EE, mystic probally could order them in for you,
I run the exact setup you mention in the OP, works great...

I scoped out my Norinco M305, but ended up removeing it all. It made the gun real heavy and basically became a bench gun. I may try some light optics such as a red dot in the future or just get some good sights for it. I have not decided.

I found with the arms 18 mount it can cause some stovepipes that jam against the mount. You may need a mount that sits higher.

mystic precision is the canadan supplier for promag. I soon hope to join that list as well.
right now it's all about product availlability....... and there simply is none. Promag is one bunch of busy folks and there stuff is not staying on store shelves long. They make more stuff for the m14 that hasn't been talked about on cgn yet. I have the Promag tactical bolt release and tactical mag release on the way as we speak thru my own source and will be evaluating to possibly add them to my inventory.

as for the mounts, they make 2 versions, one is a clone of the arms 18 and the other is slightly taller for those wanting something that sits a little higher above the ejection port

By all means keep us informed on how this promag supplying pans out...I've gotta admit that I was pretty impressed with the stock (hopefully it shoots as well also). If their stuff is half as good as it seems to be it'll definitely make for a more interesting M14/M305 market (not to mention relatively economical).

Quick question about that promag mount. Did they recently switch designs? The mount pictured on page 1 looks like an ARMS 18 clone, while the mount shown on their website is different.

as far as i am aware, promag is now offering two scope mounts. the arms clone and one that sits a bit higher. I would not be surprised in the least to see many more m1a/m14 related items down the road from promag
