Promags or Butler Creek for SR

I use STEEL LIP Butler Creek mags, fired thousands of rounds through my SR22 and no problems. Maybe one time I held the mag while firing, instead of the stock and that caused a failure to feed.

I bought an aluminum Tactical Solutions mag, that is adjustable, so it seats firmly, no wiggle, unlike the Butler Creek can. I haven't used it at the range yet, but not expecting any problems, costs $80, but you can see the value. I think Wanstalls is also getting plastic Tac Sol. 10/22 mags too, which will be cheaper.

Most people seem to be happy with Butler Creek, reasonably priced and widely available.

I've heard some people complain about the Promags, but I've never used them so that's not for me to say.

My policy is buy one, try it, then buy more once the product proves itself to your satisfaction. You can always sell it off on the EE for a discount if you're not satisfied.

All the best.

Welcome to the SR22 club.

I have used both Promag and butler creek steel lips. The butler creek steel lips have some play but they are 100% reliable. However, if you are as vain as I am, you want your mags to look cool too! The promag looks awesome but they require some work to get them to feed reliably. There is a thread about promag tips and tricks. I recommend you read through it.
