Looking to get into prone shooting and stretching the legs on some rifles this summer. I have a caldwell setup with a big bag in the front and small V bag for the rear. It works well enough at the range on the bench but what are people using for bags for prone shooting? Thanks

If I don't use a bipod, I use plain ordinary sandbags under the forend, built up to the desired height, and a bunny ear bag under the toe of the stock.

I'm going to have to agree with tiriaq here and suggest a bipod. Bags for front rests always get quite annoying in my opinion as you are constantly having to re-adjust them. With a bipod you set your roughly desired front height and "fine tune" the rear with a smaller bag. For utmost consistency though, look to the F-Class shooters using pedestal rests and bunny eared bags at the rear.

At my PR Matches in Garrison Petawawa, I have a milk crate with TWO of each size of the JSA Tactical shooting bags, my clients love the different sizes since they have a chance to experiment with different sizes as you rotate the cylinder shaped bag; now you have a different dimension.

Yes these bags are sold here on CGNutz by board sponsors.....quality wise, let me put it this way, you are gonna die before these bags die.

I know which bags I would take overseas with me if I had to get going, but my wife won’t let me so Bravo Range in Garrison Petawawa it’s gonna be!! Hahahaha

:nest:

Cheers and enjoy the learning journey
