Proof marks on a Colt New Service?

I just picked up this Colt New Service in 455 Eley (serial # 62###). The barrel, frame, and cylinder flutes have a crown over a letter V stamped in them. On the barrel is also a crown over what looks like a funky G or a C with a T in it. What do these proof marks signify? KD

Sounds like commercial London, Eng., proofs.

I'll second that as indeed they are British Proofmarks. 455 Eley is a British caliber & guns by Colt & Webley were made for this cartridge....Interesting...
