Proper Storage

I was hoping that somebody might be able to help tell me what the proper (legal) way of storing ammo is?

I recently bought my first semi, a glock 17 9mm. I have a security safe to store the gun, trigger locked. Is it permissible to store my ammo in the same safe? Or does it have to be locked away in a separate lockable container?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes.

You may also store your magazines charged, as long as they are not in the firearm (the firearm must be unloaded: removed or empty magazine/clip, empty chamber).

(a) it is unloaded;
(b) it is

(ii) rendered inoperable by the removal of the bolt or bolt-carrier, or
(iii) stored in a container, receptacle or room that is kept securely locked and that is constructed so that it cannot readily be broken open or into; and
(c) it is not readily accessible to ammunition, unless the ammunition is stored, together with or separately from the firearm, in a container or receptacle that is kept securely locked and that is constructed so that it cannot readily be broken open or into.

NOTE: (a), (b), (c) are ANDs. You must do all of them.
