What would be a proper way to measure lenght of revolver barrel. It's either measuring the lenght with vernier from muzzle to the end of forcing cone directly or with depth probe from muzzle to the face of cylinder. I have very, very close call with my S&W 357 mag, one way is just short the other way just over 105mm....Thanks for your input

crown/muzzle/flush with the end of the barrel, to the end of the forcing cone, or face of the cylinder, it so close, I would not take that fight on, you never win...sucks but thems the rules...and they are stupid, the restricted prohib thing is in place to rid the clean living public of firearms period...
Its what happens when Liberals make the rules...they suck at everything else, no way this could have come out right ....lol

cleaning rod method is the "official way". That means from the muzzle to the face of the cylinder.

I have a S&w that is .2mm over using this method.

In revolvers it is the actual length of the barrel... very easy to measure... from one end to the other... no air space is included, no part of the cylinder is considered.
