Proposal to allow Sunday hunting

I want to write a letter to our new provincial (liberal :runaway:) government to propose the opening of Sunday hunting on PEI.
We just recently got sunday shopping.

Anyway, I am looking for arguments, quotes, examples from other provinces (ie special restrictions ) whatever... even a whole letter that I can steal would be great.

The points I want to make are:
Equal access to the sport, getting new hunters involved, especially when fathers work 6 days a week or are too busy with hockey programs etc on the weekends.

Also I believe there is a charter violation or something with a closure based on religious reasons or something.

Something I've been thinking about lately is the big push by gov't to get kids active, why not offer up hunting and fishing as suitable activities? It would fit in with the Sunday hunting, get the kids out on the weekends.

One of the major reasons for closed Sundays here is that there will be one day a week when other users can be in the woods without worrying about being hung up on the camp game pole. I'd love to have Sundays, be great to get the young fella out two days on a weekend.
 
Yes I think it would be a great idea to push the "active kids and the outdoors " idea. They push the whole physically active thing with sports in schools. Whats better than a 5 hour hike in the woods carrying a rifle? I know that when I dont do it all summer and then go in the fall I pay for it, for a few days.

Also we here in Nova Scotia got sunday shopping not to long ago too. My friends and I said at the time they should bring out sunday hunting. Because the way it is in the fall, it gets dark to early for me to go hunting after work. and I also work the odd Saturday so my hunting is limited to maybe 5 trips if I'm lucky.

Also like nexgen said, use the more quality time with your children argument.

I like this sticker I seen in the back window of a truck the other day that said "Kids that hunt, fish and trap, dont mug little old ladies."
 
If its based on religious reasons. I am not a man of the bible but what little I do understand the real Sabbath should be Saturday.

Anyway I think sunday hunting is good for the local Shops of all kinds. Might boost sales for every one.
