hey guys i have reloaded about 100 rounds only. my question is does nickel plated brass have any benefits with reloading and performance i have always reloaded brass with no issues. i had some nickel plated brace lying around and seemed to have issues trying to reload them

No benefit at all. In fact perhaps some negatives. Very hard to trim with flaking the plating off. You don't want a piece of that nickel plating in your dies. It will scratch or gouge the die. I reload them in my 300 wsm but after three firings I toss them.
 
Biggest pro is that it makes for nice shiny shells. And if you can't shoot good, you can at least impress the others with your glitter.
 
Is there an actual added value if we compare commercial load with brass case Vs nickel plated case ? I noticed most JHP ammo aimed at the carry market are nickel plated
 
Only pro is the bling factor. If you are into cowboy shooting and want to have cartridges in your gun rig, nickel will not tarnish; this is about the only use I've found for the stuff. Something in the leather will make brass corrode in no time flat. It is also harder and more prone to cracking and does not take to annealing as well as brass.

It might be good if want to stock your bunker and don't want it corrode after 50years of storage in a corrosive environment.
 
I shoot a big amount of 38Spl and about a quarter to third of my brass is nickel. The nickel tends to split more often when shot. But the only difference in the press it is that the nickel cases have a touch more drag in the sizing die and perhaps a slightly firmer touch needed to seat the primer.

I do lay out a big cookie sheet worth of casings all on their side and literally wave a 1 second spray of case lube over them before dumping into the tray that holds them for reloading. The lube makes the sizing go a lot easier and lessens the difference in handle drag that the nickel caused if sized dry compared to the brass.
 
I agree with Ganderite in using them to distinguish between rounds. I load regular 9mm loads in my brass cases and my 9mm major in nickel cases. Has worked for years without a problem.
 
I don't ususally seek them out per-se but any I do have I use for my hunting rounds and for HP pistol rounds just for easy identification should they somehow get mixed together.
My hunting rounds, once fully developed and a dope card made, don't get cycled often so they will last me a lifetime. Same goes for my HP pistol rounds.
 
Yeah i am definitely not a fan of the nickel plated brass to me i see no performance advantage at all im not about the looks i want things to work and performs good and i just have never had good results trying to reload them
