what's the need

At 6'5 crawling and then exiting some props at 3 gun matches, I have hit my head on several props. Once I exited an old trailer hit my head so hard I saw stars. I still don't wear a helmet but I am thinking maybe.

Mount NVGs on something that's lighter than a 3a helmet but still have a bit of impact protection.

I dont think a helmet is necessary for 3 gun matches...

Some of the guys I shoot with ride the short bus to the range... Helmets are usually standard. Velcro shoes too..

Yeah... and resetting that texas star target can be hazardous if you don't watch what you're doing.. It's like a ferris wheel of pain if it bangs you on the noggin!
