We're pleased to announce that we will be bringing a new muzzle brake to market. We just finished our prototype and are in the process of testing it.

Here's some basic specs:
  • Material: 7075 T6 Aluminium
  • Finish: Type 3 class 2 hard anodized. (Not pictured)
  • Threads: Not required - clamp on.
  • Mass: 180g

We opted for aluminium to keep the weight down. Since pressures and gas temperature at the muzzle is lower than rifle rounds, aluminium is a suitable material.

Price: $150 estimated.

Here's some video and pictures of our prototype we made today:

Cool, does it come in black? Does it work with the new internal chokes on the gen5 typhoons? Can I change the choke without removing the break?

It will come in black. This one is out testing prototype and is unfinished. It will work with all version of the typhoon. If you have external chokes you will need to remove the brake to change chokes, or have 1 brake per choke. If you have internal chokes you should be able to change chokes with an extended choke wrench, however we are working to confirm this. In all cases the brake is very quick to remove and install.

Update: We made some minor tweaks to ensure the brake is really well clamped. At this point we are very happy with the design and are waiting on our material for a production run.

Here's some slow-mo testing video of the brake:

What's the radius where the baffles and the bottom meet? Looks pretty sharp a corner. Might be worth doing a pass with a bull nose mill instead to strengthen it.
