Very nice! What's the balance like? It would seem rather top heavy with the A1 stock, longish barrel, and brake on top of that.

Have it out yet? So far so good?

Still at the Smiths. I have not yet layed my hands on it. The gun is 49.75" long. My 308 HS is 46.75 long. It shouldn't be to top heavy with scope, rail, and rings etc once finished. However, only shooting it will tell.

:D

Just curious why you would replace the factory extractor?

Can you post a picture of the extractor? Is it just prettier? :D

And I thought those pics were top secret...

Gotta broadcast the cool stuff!

The replacement extractor is CNC machined stainless instead of cast steel. Stronger, thats all. Its a "drop in" part for the bolt.

I don't have a pic but will post once I have the gun.

The barrel and brake still has to be bead blasted, ingraved and then the HOT bath but it already looks and feels the part of a tactical/practical shooter. This gun should have the recoil of a .223

I've got some 208Gr A-Max on order to try with it. I can't wait! :D

Congrats on the hot new rifle! Considering who built it I am sure that it will be out of this world. Now all we need is a range report. I'd love to hear how those 208gr A-Max bullets work out.
