I can see how this is going to be an expensive addiction. I was lucky enough to be able to go through a crate of mosins and pick the one that I like the most. I now own a matching serial numbers tula 1938 mosin. If anyone has any tips on getting the shellac off the stock I'd be grateful.

Welcome to the ranks Komrade !!

I can see how this is going to be an expensive addiction.

Oh, you have no idea !!

As for your "matching serial numbers Tula 1938 Mosin Nagant", it is called "forced matching" as all these rifles went through a refurbishing process where they were disassembled, parts serviced, serial numbers removed and put back together. The parts were then "forced matched" to the number on the receiver.

Regardless, you now own a very fun to shoot piece of military history. Congrats !!

BTW, I suggest you visit 7.62x54r.net to learn more about your rifle and its history.

I'd post a picture but I"ve already disassembled it.

Without even having this one a day, I can see others I'd like to own as well now.
Oh well, overtime at work I guess.
