Hi folks,

I am looking forward for the coming fall hunting season and was rather saddened by the length of the season here in Quebec. By having a quick look, it would seem that Ontario is much more liberal in that aspect. I am all likely going to cross the border and spend my holiday there rather than in Quebec. Though, I was wondering what you were thinking about that, and if you had any feedback on this issue; Is Quebec THAT conservative with hunting season length ?

Thanks.

Don't know about any province other than BC, but in BC you can hunt SOMETHING pretty much year round. Big game hunting starts in August and doens't finish until into January. Predators and bison in the winter, bear opens in the spring...I think July is the only really dry month with only some openings for rabbits.

Not sure what hunting you're talking about but if it's deer might I suggest getting a bow/crossbow certificate to increase the length of your season as well as allow you to hunt in areas where firearms are prohibited.

In Ontario I know rifle season for deer and moose varies in length depending what WMU you are in. Some areas are under a week and others are three months. Some areas never have an open rifle season.
