building a 6mm creedmoor and will be considering the DTAC 115 bullet is this OK

also if I wanted to shoot the 105 hybrids or the matrix 105's (have thousands of them and should sell some)
can I use the same throat or freebore at about 183 or so for the creedmoor?

thoughts

Guys tend to either shoot 105 class bullets or 110-115 class bullets. You get less recoil with the lighter bullets and better ballistics with the heavier ones. Different freeborn for the Hybrids or the heavies though so choose beforehand. That being said I've had success with 110SMKs in a SAAMI spec chamber as well even though they are jumping quite a bit. The 108 ELDMs tend to shoot really well in most guns and end up at mag length (2.800) when loaded 20 thou off the lands in a SAAMI chamber. As I'm sure you know, barrel life is pretty poor so I prefer to choose my bullets first and see if it shoots instead of playing around with a whole bunch of different bullet designs.

DTAC are good bullets but can be hard to come by. Xreload does get them. The down side is there is lot to lot inconsistencies. The last lot I got the rebates boattail looks more like a standard boattail the lot before that the nose was different. I cant remember what the measurement was but it was shorter.

Around 10 years ago, I built a 6x47 Lapua match rifle around 115gr DTAC bullet and it would perform perfectly with everything from 95gr SMK, 105gr Berger Hybrid, 107gr SMK, 108gr Berger BT and 115gr DTAC. (The barrel was 1-7.5" which is required to safely stabilized a 115gr bullet at sea level in colder weather.)
If I had to do it again, I would build a rifle around Berger 105gr Hybrid bullet and forget heavier bullets.

I ran the 115 DTACS last year in my 6XC and I’m not switching. They are very consistent bullet and I had multiple hits past 1200 yards during comps. Last year I ran them in a 1-8 twist too. This years Barrel will be a 1-7.5. Listen to Furtaker he knows what he is talking about and he builds one hell of a rifle.

I had the same situation a couple months back for a 6mm build. I looked at the 105 Berger Hybrids and the DTACs. Couldn't find the DTACs (I'm not super patient either) and eventually found the Berger's.

You've got the case capacity to run the 115 DTAC's up to a good speed, but I would try out what is available and see what your gun likes! I'm busy building my first 6mm rifle and will be trying the 105 RDF, 105 Scenar, 108 ELD-M, 110 SMK and hopefully some 115's, but it all comes down to what I can get, how much it costs and what my gun shoots best!

I'm waiting on my DTAC's to come in. Tried out the 108 ELDM and wow are they looking good so far.
Only have 50 down the pipe, waiting on weather LOL (read March) to finish
testing.

Hopefully the DTAC's get here by then to compare.
