What barrel length(s) are the PRS shooters using? We know 6mm variants are most popular but need to know barrel lengths and contours.
Thanks in advance!

Peter

Not mentioned in the article: people running 6mm are using 1-7.5 or 1-7.7 twists and 0.237/0.243 land/groove. Most I've talked to prefer 5R rifling, and there is some buzz about MI (minimally invasive or Caudle 3 land polygonal) rifling.

From what I have seen in the Pacific Northwest medium Palma and heavy varmint have been a common choice with lengths of 24,25 and 26".... As well heavy Palma and MTU have a big presents as well.

26 inch and will run a 115 dtac with an 8 twist at 3030 fps at -5C

Have a read: http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com...fficent-varies-with-twist-rate-stabilization/
Bryan updated Berger's stability calculator to tell you if you're losing BC for a given bullet with a given twist rate: http://www.bergerbullets.com/twist-rate-calculator/

105 Hybrid at 3030 fps. out of an 8 twist at -5C, the BC may be compromised 8%. A DTAC will be worse. The ballistics calculator prediction will be off.

The bullet tables also changed to give optimal twist rates: http://www.bergerbullets.com/products/target-bullets/

0.237/0.243 land/groove and 5R rifling are also important with 6mm's. The 6mm bullets have long bearing surfaces and they're running at high velocities (up to 3200 fps.). They're more prone to blowing up in flight with 0.236 lands and conventional rifling.

Many top shooters in the US have mixed for years now and even many factory powders are a form of blends
Not sure what the pressures are...baby steps and pay attention to the brass.
