WOLVERINE SUPPLIES NEWS

October 12, 2005 We just received our first Pre-Production PRS Stock for the AR15 from Magpul
Industries. As I expected this, in my opinion, is the best butt stock
available for the AR15. I use optics most of the time and I am a firm
believer in having a good check weld, the PRS Stock with the adj cheek rest
makes this possible. The adjustable length of stock should make this stock
suit most operators under a wide variety of field conditions and dress.
Unfortunately she is not compatible with the AR10 carbine. Check back for
future availability and price …..

I'll give someone $50 for one of the old M93 (I think it was) stocks.

It is compatible with an AR10 Carbine - you just need a smaller (Slash @ AR15.com) tungsten buffer (with any collapsible other than Armalites dedicated AR10 Model).

eehhhhh this is the answer to what? Looks like something that belongs on a target rig not a AR.

I find the M93 series looked better and as OZZ said, this looks more suited to BR shooting than practical/tactical usage. I think it is just human nauture to want the fancy do-dads and latest build of everything (me included). The OEM stocks can't be that bad.... lots of competitions have been won in the past with OEM buttstocks and "normal" collapsable stocks. I don't think I'll be getting this stock... but hey, it's just my $0.02.

Regards,

The PRS will only work on an AR10 when the cheek piece is fully down, this defeats the purpose of having an adjustable cheek piece.

The cheek piece interfers with the charging handle on the AR10, and as I see this cheek piece as being the most important advantage with the PRS I stated that she was incompatible with the AR10.

The PRS uses the standard rifle length AR15/AR10 buffer tube so regular rifle springs and buffers are used. Non standard ArmaLite buffers are only required when installing the short AR15 "CAR" buffer tubes on AR10 carbines i.e. Magpul M93 stock on to AR10 carbine. Both ArmaLite and Vltor make dedicated AR10 carbine buffer tubes one inch longer than standard, these use standard ArmaLite AR10 rifle springs, Part # EA1095, with a ArmaLite AR10 carbine buffer, Part # EC0120.

Notwithstanding the above I think the PRS is the best stock available, we will be speaking with Richard at Magpul to see if we can get a PRS compatible with the AR10 family of rifles. I hope this clarifies things.

John,

You can get the AR10 checkpiece - it is shorter than the AR15 version. The PRS is AR10 compatible. I will see if I can get pics up. --> There are pics on ARF.com
