Interested in checking out/trying a few PRS Matches. Probably limited to BC or Washington I work way to much, have limited time to get away.
I am situated in Victoria, would like to keep one way travel under 5-6 hours not counting ferries.

Have limited experience mostly hunting in prairies usually max 300-400 meters. But have shot targets out to 800m on several occasions, out to 1000m once.

thanks

BC Rifle Association runs the PRS matches in BC. There is one on the mainland at Vokes and two on the island. Plus some practices on the island.

The schedules for the mainland and island have not been released yet for 2017.

Washington has a bunch of PRS stuff, I don't have links to it. Use google to find the Washington PRS stuff, not many of the PRS shooters in BC travel to the Washington for the PRS matches.

Excited to hear more BC PRS type events are being planned... very good news.

Been going to Rattlesnake range the last couple of years to shoot F class. They are running several PRS matches there each year.

These are the bigger clubs/events.

I have been buried in F class the last years and had no idea the growth in PRS in WA, OR, ID... TONS of matches to go to .

There are some big events held in the pacific northwest and many top PRS shooters live in the area.

hope to get to some in the coming season.

There are a few PRS matches in Wa, one at Rock Lake Rifle Range and another near Naches, put on by Tactical Supply, might be another as well? I know there is a NRL match in Wa too, the JC Steel Target Challenge. If you've never shot a match before though, I'd check out the NWPRL (North West Precision Rifle League). They put on a regional series of awesome matches with a 2-day finale that are highly competitive (lots of top PRS competitors) and have great courses of fire but match fees are more like $60 instead of a few hundred for a PRS match. Most are in East or Southeast Wa. I think the closest points match is at UNSC (who also put on a monthly match with up to 20+ guys).

Best for your buck returns would be upper nisqually sportsmen club matches from nwprl. And rattlesnake which is 6 hours from basically Surrey. You can do upper nisqually on a day trip (~3 hrs one way) but rattlesnake you probably should stay the night.

Here you go. This is from a few diff pages, and is not necessarily complete or correct.

Upper Nisqually is a great place to start, as others have posted. 150-600 yards, good mix of stages, first Saturday of each month.

And there are more matches in many NW states so yes, you can shoot pretty much every weekend, all year long.

I like that they have matches in the fall and early spring when it is just too mucky/cold to want to play here.

Get your Form 6 away and get out and have some fun... remember that the cost of staying, and eating in WA is quite a bit less then in Canada so don't be shy about staying for the weekend.

Enjoy.

This^

The Nanaimo practices and matches are two hours drive from you. They are a great way to get some experience shooting positional and movers during timed stages.

They take place on the 600 yard DND range and this year there will be some new stages where you shoot from obstacles.
