Decided to jump into the competition world and am accepting any guidance, knowledge, do’s/dont’s, recommendations on educational material I.e books, YouTube channels, social media from the seasoned vets out there.

Cheers

That’s a very broad ask as far as the vast differences between the disciplines. Literally volumes of literature could be written on this. If you’re talking about rimfire, I’d suggest looking at Womfat videos . They’re very well done and Matt is a very skilled shooter and a great ambassador to the sport. Go and watch some matches or start on an Outlaw Rimfire Precision Shoot!

If you get into F Class, learn to reload (if you don't already know how). Most box ammo won't make the grade. Having said that, when reloading, don't get too bent out of shape and worry too much about absolute perfection/uniformity. At the start...don't sweat it if your COAL have an extreme spreads of 0.010 ... or velocities have a spread of 20 fps..... getting perfectly uniform handloads as newbie shouldn't be top priority. Shaving 0.25 MOA off your handloaded groups at 100 yards will do you NO GOOD, if you can read wind at 500 too 1,000 yards causing your shots to miss by 2.50 MOA. At the start, spend your time at the range instead of the reloading bench.
