We have a Prussian Needle Gun that came into the store and before we put it up for sale, there are a few of us who would like to fire it (Just so we can say that we have). Is there anyone out there who can help us located information on creating rounds for this rifle, Bullet weights, powder charge ect. What would be more ideal is if someone out there had loaded ammo (For its age they would have to be more recent loads) that they would be willing to sell.

If I remember correctly the makeup of the Needle Gun ammunition is a little different than what most of us are used to. The placement of the primer is what sets it apart.

The primer is in the base of the projectile. That's why the nickname "needle gun" The firing pin had to pierce the entire length of the combustible wrapping and powder charge to contact it. The pins were subjected to heat and firing pressure of corrosive black powder, so soldiers had to carry spare ones with them as they eroded away/broke quite often.
