prvi partizan in svt40

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if soft point prvi partizan ammo will cycle properly in a svt40.

Yes it should. I reload nothing but soft point bullets for my SVT-40's & they like it fine. Make sure you adjust the gas valve to match the ammo you are shooting.

I had to do a little fiddling with one of mine. Had to work on how the mag seated and the "step" up into the chamber. When I sold it it still hung up at least one in every mag. It still fed FMJ fine tho. It can be worked through.

I know I'm not the only one who's had this issue.

I found the Prvi Partizan worked well but the Bell stuff didnt.

I put 20 rds through mine with 150gr prvi. No problems at all. can't wait to get out again!

Thanks for the replies. I should have been more specific though, I was wondering about 180 grain prvi. Anyone have experience with these in a svt? Should I steer clear of them and try to get 150 grain?

I also am wondering. All I have is a box of 180 grain S&B soft points. Think they will work?

I think I read something on this site about never using anything more than 150gr in a svt. as more could cause damage........can't remember the details though.

should not be a problem, adjust your gas setting to the lowest setting and adjust up till it functions

not like the M14 where you don't have an adjustable gas system
