Germany didn't invade Russia until mid June 1941. Therefore the 1940 and most of the 1941 Mosins are just as nice as the round receiver late-30's rifles.

Even if your bore is oversize, you still have plenty of .311 and .312 bullets to choose from. My '42 loves 150grn Hornady Interlocks.

I use .312 bullets for all my Mosin homeloads, and they work better in every single Mosin.... another secret... Shhhhh.....
