Considering getting this scope mostly due to its size, shape and robustness. I know it was used at distances of up to 500m, for the occasional single shot. Has anyone here reached out with one at those distances and what were the groups like? Also, how do you guys like it for snap shots and rapid fire? (not its intended use, just toying with the idea of mounting it on a mixed-use rifle)

Depends on what you intend to use it for including which gun (I am assuming mosin nagant). I haven't yet had the option of shooting it out to 600m, but I am sure that it is quite capable of it with the mosin nagant and good ammo. I don't think it would be particularly useful for snap shots/rapid fire, you might as well use the iron sights from below. If you are using the mosin nagant and want something different, but still using the mount i believe i saw some 1" tube mounts for the mosin nagant which use the same base mount, but use a separate screwed in mount.

Thanks for the tips. Yeah, I figured that post reticule would be the death of me. Had to ask (wishful thinking lol) Too bad as the scope has everything else I need. Wanted to do some service conditions, but also CQB and even fluffier stuff like 3gun with the T97. While I have a reflex sight on her now, I'd like to have something that's thin (so I can mount it low), short and has a bit of magnification. Here's my current setup and I wouldn't wanna go too much higher/more forward than that...

Check out the leupold FX2 2.5x20. It may work here. The rear bell is very small too.

If you are looking for CQB scenario german post reticle is "the best". In Europe they are the only suggested reticle for wild bore hunting in the field where you can be charged buy angry male bore

Good to know, thanks guys. I guess the best one I found so far for fast acquisition was the donut of death, but other than that, I've only shot multi-x (not counting true reflex sights). By the way, how do you Arkansas with a post? If I get this scope it's gonna be used with a caliber with different ballistics than 7.62x54
