Hi, Im just wondering if there is any public hunting grounds in the kitchener/london area. Only area I know of is the hullet marsh close by. I dont want to go door to door to hunt on private land.

Finally got my hunter licence this past spring and got my blaze orange vest and hat recently at walmart.

Thanks

Watch in Woolwich Township, their by-law states you need written permission to shoot on private land.Even the farmer saying its ok is not enough.

Just south west of london there is Fingal WMU. They release birds in the fall and you can kick up a bunny or two :D

I used to live in London and that was my only beef with living in southern Ontario.....nowhere really to hunt. What public land is available is over-run with hunters.

I now live in northern Alberta where I can literally go hunting just out the front door.

You are dead wrong on that point my friend. There is all kinds of hunting space in Southern Ontario, however it is all privately owned. I have on going permission for four different farms only a few miles from home. You just have to get off your butt and get to know some landowners. They are really a pretty good bunch of people.

And trespassers will have their vehicles smashed up more frequently. A lot of hunters I know aren't taking trespassers and poachers lightly anymore. To many stands and cameras being stolen If you don't have permission stay off private lands

Remember shaking my head at the guys staking out the Aylmer sewage lagoon. And you had to make reservations, as I recall. Laugh2

I dislike trespassers too...BUT the charge for smashing someones car is gonna cost you a lot more then the fine buddy will get for climbing your fence...

I'm not into smashing up trucks I think that's low. I'd find the people and confront them myself. But my buddies have a point. Word gets out that your vehicles are safe parked there people will eventually stop trespassing. I keep all my landowners #s in my phone if trespassers come in I call the landowner they call the police and I find the guy(s) is the bush. Works out well. Turkey hunters seem to be the worst offenders

Now there's another good reason to get out of Ontario, even if you do like Mc Squinty. Thought only the Natives stooped that low. :D
