I've got about 10 rounds of 7.62x54R hanging around here, and I was wondering if people use these bullets in 303's. The answer is probably yes, but I mic'd the 7.62X54R (180 grn) ones to .310, whereas the .303 brit bullets I have mic out to .312

Too little a difference to matter?

Slug your .303 barrel. If the bullet is a little too skinny, the worst that will happen is that you'll get poor accuracy. Try it and see how it works. Some guys report that even .308 bullets work OK in their .303s.

I agree about slugging the barrel. Some are smaller than one might assume.
However, there is no real reason why it should not be .311 or .312 so I would say that your 7.62 x 54R bullets should be fine.
Being a couple of thou under might mean slightly lower pressure and perhaps some accuracy loss. Or they may be just fine.

Lotta work for 10 bullets. They'll do if your barrel isn't too big though. Load for the bullet weight.
The nominal bore diameter is .311", however, an Enfield barrel can measure up to .315" and still be considered ok. .311" and .312" bullets won't shoot well out of a .314" or .315" barrel.
