Anyone ever pull the fmjs out of the chinese copper wash and seat another bullet?
Looking at building some hornady ssts on the cheap with cases i plan to chuck out/not recover

Never really dealt with steel cases reloading, and ive never done projectile swapping.

I figure i need to drop about .5 grains of powder out for the slightly longer projectile, the weight is almost identical though 123 vs130gr shouldnt make a huge difference. Be a good chance to equal out those factory power dumps anyways

But im i going to have to resize the cases neck is the real question

Has anyone done this with success?

Ya, I substituted some soft point for the fmj. Shot very well. I think I used a 123 gr. 130 should be ok with the .5 reduction.............but your on your own there ;) May also want to use a seating die and match it up. I dont recall if I resized them.

perfect, yeah i use a RCBS pulling die in the press (hammer is ok for 1 or two) then i will reseat with dies.

I just bought a ton of SST projectiles for like $40/100 but i'm having issue with powder and primer since all the carriers that do dangerous goods are now dumping to CP for the yukon... so no dice of shipping.

I have a few thousand FMJ... but only about 400SP and 100SST loaded.
I need to get good with a different platform this year of hunting so I need to shoot lots lol.

Easiest way to pull military bullets is to run them nose first into a seating die and bump the bullets 1/16" into the case breaking the waterproof tar seal if they have that then they pull easily.Mexican match away.
