Do not own any pumps.....also, a search on the topic failed to reveal much hence the query.....

Does the forend, more specifically on Wingmasters rattle? If so, is there a fix? Or is that inherent with all pump actions regardless of makes/models?

Thanks,

Sounds like it still has the wooden plug(or a pencil or dowel rod)in it!

Some people still use them(for hunting and such)if you can only put three rounds in then that probably is the call!

But if you can poke four or more shells in and the rattle is still there, well then.

Sorry, I should've been a bit more explicit.....you probably meant the mag plug.....my question, however, was regarding the apparently "loose" forend grip but then again this is perhaps a design inherent to pumps?

I think it's pretty much an inherent trait with all pump shotguns. Mine have all rattled a little bit, but never to the point of it being a concern or even very noticable.

Should still be tight for and aft , the side to side slop is pretty normal, but do check for any cracks. Some times the wood will move a bit with moisture (open)

the Nova has a known issue with forearm rattle
mine is a bit loose but I don't find it too bad

supposedly the forearm has a bit of play because the Nova is a waterfowling (and all around) gun, and can be pumped/fired with mud/dirt in the chamber
i tight fitting slide might not operate as well

ive held other pumps which didn't seem to rattle at all

My used Browning BPS rattles, it was made in 1991 and is worn from pumping the action. It is loose on the side slides and on the mag tube. A friend bought a new BPS that makes less noise. I have used it for turkey the last two seasons without any mistakes but I am aware of the extra noise and handle it carefully. My newer 870 super mag is a lot tighter and quieter.
