Pups first bird

My wife and her pup finally got their first grouse this past weekend. They worked hard, and had a lot of flushes, but due to a myriad of reasons werent able to connect with a shot. Until Saturday. Proud of them both!

Lab/Irish setter cross. She was a bit "gun shy" till I slowly got her over it. Had her out awhile back and she made her first retrieve and gained a new interest in birds.

Remington "Nylon mohawk 66" .22 semi-auto...grouse bane!

Looks like you may have been hunting with that rifle for a while now. The semi must be pretty handy for follow up shots(after incidental misses)or taking quick shots on multiple birds if they stick around after their buddy's been shot.
