So I have a lh t3 in 7mm rm and a really want a walnut stock. There's one on the ee from a rh tikka so I said I'd take it. All I should have to do is cut in a new relief for the bolt right? Nothing else to modify? If I get it I plan on filing a new bolt relief and filling the one on the right side with a similar piece of walnut and refinishing the whole stock. I would like the proper lh stock bit they're impossible to come by. I've had a wtb add on the ee for 6 months and no bites.

I'm not too concerned if the new piece of walnut isn't an exact match since its just a hunting rifle.

I'm curious whether a rifle stock like that would have the butt plate offset from the center line at all. I believe the term is "cast".
Shotguns generally do and I know some rifles have at least a little.

I believe you'll be removing material for the safety as well behind the bolt relief. And you'll be left with a wide gap where the right handed safety used to fit.
