Putting things in the trigger guard

So I've noticed something with some firearm pictures. Some of them have seemingly random stuff put into the trigger guard, from Shotgun shells to ammunition to pens to empty brass to a pair of pliers.

Why is that?

Like Shifty2 said, I think it is just for photographic purposes. Personally I don't see how this slightly altered angle adds anything to a photo, all I can think of is "why does that stupid pen need to be in the photo".

Because it can be really hard to get a good picture when the shiny bits of the pistol and the background are parallel. Especially if you use a flash, and especially if the backdrop is at all reflective.

Plus the speed hole thing. It makes it appear to the eye that the pistol is travelling at a great rate of speed, making for a more exciting picture.

Ok, I kind of suspected it was for the angles. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Maybe we should put speed holes in bullets to make them look like they're going faster too! :D

looks like somebody beat you to it, these bullets have holes in them, though the hole isn't there for speed but supposedly to make the hollowpoint open more reliably...
