Decided to change the title and subject of this thread, because I just installed these sweet babies:

Very slim. I can now grab the slide and not hit the rabbit ear controls; as a bonus the kit also came with a slim slide release!!

Original levers for comparison (ignore the arrows):

Hi,

1. Do you have a single large letter stamped on the underside of your slide like this... if so what is it?

2. When your hammer is at rest, is it Off-Centered like this?

Thanks.

I just bought one yesterday, waiting on my temp ATT.

The F refers to which model it is. The F model is the DA/SA version with the safety and all the regular features. I've noticed in a couple Youtube videos the hammer does look a little off center, didn't notice it on the one in the store, but I was mostly looking to see how it felt in my hands. When I bring it home (this evening or tomorrow) I'll take a pic and let you know.

Thanks guys... yeah, I figured the F was model designation or else I got a rejected slide ;)
But kinda sucks as I have the stealth "G" decocker lever en route... now "everyone" will now know it's actually an F. <sigh>

With regards to the hammer being offset... I was worried about this, but managed to find a post today on another site where the author noticed that the hammer was "offset" as well. Once someone here confirms this, then I can feel at ease knowing it is as designed. It looks odd (the hammer), but I'm sure Beretta knows what they are doing.

BTW it's my first Beretta and I like it. My only gripe thus far is the triggers terrible reset, otherwise I'm very happy with it. The rotating action is incredibly slick!

"Note that the hammer appears off-center in the slide notch. The bottom of the hammer fills the corresponding frame width but the right side of the hammer shank is slightly thinned. I am not sure why."

Whew!~ Thought I had a Friday gun.

I was curious about what a stealth decocker was, Googled it, and found this page:

Look at his hammer. Looks about the same as yours.

As for the stealth decocker, is it more comfy on your thumb? That was the only thing that was kind of awkward on the Storm I felt.

Thanks for that link... it does look the same.

I don't have the stealth G-decocker yet, it's been ordered. However, I knew I wanted it when I first learned of it.

The fatory decocker/safety is HUGE, think of a rabbits ears; you can actually rack the slide with your index and middle finger pulling on the safety/decocker only. Come to think of it, it's almost identical to an AR charging handle. I don't like it, When racking the slide, I reach over the top of the slide with my support hand and pull it back, then let go. With the "rabbit ears" I'm always hitting them. I'm hoping the Stealth lever frees up some real-estate back there (I'm certain it will).

Sorry... the "mark" is under the slide where the hood of the barrel rides (ahead of the chamber and the barrel needs to be removed); I should have taken the pic from farther back for better reference. Can you check again? :D

BTW thanks for the hammer pic it's confirmed 100% as designed.

Where did you buy it from? I might be interested in it. Like I said, the safety was a bit hard on the thumbs. This is my first pistol, so my delicate hands aren't used to working the controls on a pistol.

They are located in Europe and ship to Canada... no US BS.
EnjoY!

Got my pistol home. My hammer looks a little off center too. One thing I noticed as well is the frame seems to "stick out" a little bit on the right hand side of the pistol. Also, I believe the original PX4 barrels have polygonal rifling, while the Canadian barrel doesn't. Is this preferable?

And, to my final question, my first cleaning: Is there anything special I should do? This is my first firearm, so I want to make sure I don't screw it up.

The hammers are all slightly off-centre. I looked at a bunch of them at the local shop. Doesn't affect accuracy so no worries. PX4 is one of my fav's . Awesome gun. Just spray the inside of the slide with a degreaser and wipe it clean and same with the frame. Brush through the inside of the barrel and then clean patches. That's it!

Okay, what should I use for a degreaser? Rubbing alcohol? That's about the only thing I have here that might work. I also have the cleaning solvent I bought for when I finally get to get her dirty, haha.

I use a brake clean aerosol type spray. Whatever doesn't come out you can wipe off with a rag. I'm always amazed at how much carbon comes off just with the spray leaving me with just small crevices to clean. Qtips are also handy. The PX4 is super easy to clean.

Had a very experience 2 months ago with them, highly recommended!! Bought rubber grips with Beretta Trident instead of Hogue logo, and a metal guide rod to change the plastic one from my 92fs.

Ah crap, don't have any of that. I let real men work on my car. Rubbing alcohol just won't cut it eh? When I shine a light down the barrel and look, it looks yellow in the rifling. I'm assuming that's the grease from the factory?

EDIT: Went to Crappy Tire and they no longer carry brake cleaner as the government said it hurt the environment's feelings. I did some more Googling, and found a page that suggested it could be some copper fouling from a test fire done at the factory.
