In the ads "btw small pics hard to tell" on their site, it appears they advertise on the KAC sr15 that it has a Ambidextrious bolt catch, now it "appears" still I could run a Magpul BAD lever however out of curiousity is this true that I could? Or is the catch not in same positioning as other ARs? I ask as well, their lowers IMO are fair bit different and encorporate some different things and spacing, ie: Sling mount ports etc all into the lower...

KAC please enlarge your sites pictures and make them clear and easy to see. :)

1) You can run a BAD lever on it, I have one on mine.
2) You can only release the bolt on the right side catch.

Their lowers also have a ambi mag release that is dropped about 1/2" below the catch itself. Ambi safety is standard. The current run of SR-15 IWS lowers still have the QDSS built into the rear of the receiver, but it is my understanding that this feature will eventually be deleted (I run an ASAP plate anyway).

Ok thanks for such quick response. I do like one finger control so that was why I asked, kinda spoiled once ya can do it all with one grip and quick movements :).

Nice to hear on the back swivel points, while I understand it can or could be usefull to some, appearance wise I think it would cleaner without them there and really, there are many other points and ways to hook up to the rifle anyhow, thx again. ;)

That would be appreciated, while I found videos and some "small" pictures, I was unable to find any large clear pictures of this rifle up close. Also by chance did you weigh the gun prior to adding optics etc? I ask again only as on KAC site there is no weight mention. Thank you for assistance.;)

Pictures, as requested.

I had a BAD on my SR15. Sometimes the bolt would not hold open on the last round in the mag. I ditched the BAD and haven't had a problem since. YMMV.

It's a relatively large mass on the bolt catch. The KAC bolt catch already has to move one additional component when it comes up: the release on the right side.
The bolt catch, even on a standard AR, was never meant to have anything hanging on it. Just because is often works, doesn't mean it will in all cases.

Generally, the only time the BAD will inhibit function of the bolt catch is if the arm of the BAD in the 'resting' position (i.e. bolt forward) is too close or already touching the receiver. It can prevent the bolt from locking back.

If this happens on your gun, see where the BAD touches your lower receiver, file away some material, test again. Simple fix.

That's correct. 16" SR-15 E3 IWS with no optics, no junk on the rails, CTR with 'small' buttpad came to 6.6-6.75lbs (I can't recall which number it was).

puzzled abit, how could the BAD affect such??

I noticed that happening on mine too lately, I thought it could be ammo related, I recently switched to shooting MFS from Winchester, and noticed that occasionally (more often than not), the bolt won't hold open on the last round. I noticed yesterday after cleaning my rifle that the BAD lever was loose, so maybe it was resting on the receiver... I'll try it without the BAD lever, kinda a shame cuz I rather like it
