I'd like to put a 1-4x23 scope on my flat top, but I'm wondering if my front iron sight will interfere with the scope's view of the target.
When I was running my old 3-9x40 I never saw anything of the front sight at all, even tho it was "right there".
I'm told that it won't be a problem at 4x, but what about when I set it to 1x to use for CQB?
I have a friend who runs a 1x red dot that he has lined up to use the dot and sight post together. I don't expect to be able to do that with mine (?)
(assuming I can see it). I don't want to have to remove the existing iron sight.
So, will I see it at 1x and will it be an issue?
What's been the experience of other members?

I ended up selling my upper with a standard front sight tower... After all the years using my C7 (pre-Elcan) I found I couldn't retrain myself to ignore the front sight when using my RDS. I suspect you will notice it at 1x. Good luck!

I use an Aimpoint PRO, and yeah I can see the front sight post. That's why I got a folding front sight gas block. ARMS #41-B-L.

I'm not sure if it would be the same with a x1 scope, but I figure it will be unless it's a scout scope.
