Interesting link, I think these must be the leftover Type 03 rifles originally intended for the Canadian market (judging by the barrel length and magazine capacity). TI, any chance whatsoever that this import project could be brought back?

Interesting find indeed, makes me wonder if the project never actually halted. You don't often see these factories put things into production/complete design phase without orders at play...

My theory is that these were manufactured in anticipation of getting NR status, but have been sitting in a warehouse since the RCMP deemed them prohibited. It’s also possible that the listing and the specs are there, but nothing would be manufactured until an order is placed.

The biggest reason I think these exist is because TI did claim that a sample was submitted years ago. The rest of these were probably just waiting to be sent to Canada.

I mean there is an FRT entry for a T03 Semi auto prototype that got classed as a machine gun by the RC's.

It's possible that it could be reworked to have a new semi auto only reciever.

Like what happened with the original T97A's but that stuff takes years to come to fruition.
