So, a friend has a dream of having a QD flush cup system on his Model 700 LVSS. He does not want a stud up front and wants to have a push button sling. Easy enough. But he also wants a push button method to be able to attach his Harris bipod using the QD socket as well. He’s a picky bugger. Does not want the sling and bipod on at the same time. Appears no adapter is out there in my searches. So what I’ve got in mind is to take a push button QD sling swivel, remove the loop for the sling and TIG the swivel onto the base of the Harris. It’s looking like I’d have to drill out the base to the OD of the swivel to position it correctly for ease of operation. I’d have to mock it up in place of course and perhaps install some thin foam so that there is some “give” for installation and removal of the bipod but remain secure while mounted. He’s adamant that the fore end of the stock have no protrusions so a rail is out of the question. I also thought of an Anshutz type rail but he wants everything push button.

Just interested in some feedback or perhaps a more simple solution to the process. My Google Fu is strong but perhaps I’ve missed the item in my search for something ready made. Thank you.

Get one of those Nordic adapters... get small screw that will slide through the hole on the head and allow it to release. Then a small nut and slide it through the eyelet hole (you may need to file it to a shape that fits,) and/or file the adapter. Place the screw through the top, spin through the nut (install loctite after you get it working) so that it will act as a push/release button that is fixed to it.

Alternatively you could drill and tap the hole on the end, create a plug to fill with a hole in it, this will allow some sort of pin to be captive in place to release it. The pin will need a flange, or step that is wider than the hole through the plug but small enough to fit place with the plug removed) you could find a part or shape it in the chuck of a drill with some hand or power tools.
